A new financial helpline aims to offer more free support to small businesses, it says.
Small businesses can now access a "lifeline" - a financial helpline where they can get answers to their questions.
It has been launched by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) as an additional service for its 215,000 members.
The helpline is free and is one of many that the FSB runs. Others include the 24-hour legal helpline and business banking and finance.
Sandy Harris, chairman of member services, said sound advice in troubled times was absolutely essential for business owners.
"The FSB is lobbying the government to ensure small businesses are given appropriate support and this service will provide additional help to members who will be struggling with financial issues," he said.
Other help the government announced was payments to small businesses within ten days and free business health checks.
The FSB has long been a supported of getting a commitment from the public sector for early payment of invoices from small local businesses.
