CCS seeks views on framework of new humanities and social sciences qualification.
Teachers, lecturers, employers and those with an interest in the subject have been invited to contribute to the design and development of a new Diploma in Humanities and Social Sciences by Creative and Cultural Skills (CCS).
The sector skills council is holding three consultation events across England to give stakeholders the chance to have their say, while also posting a questionnaire online.
Events will take place at Warwick University in Coventry on September 23rd, the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool on October 1st and the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) in London on October 7th.
Contributors will be allowed to have their say on the qualification framework of the diploma to ensure it meets the needs of both students and employers, the organisation said.
The diploma will be officially launched as an industry and higher education-endorsed qualification in September 2011.
CCS chief executive, Tom Bewick, said "We are pleased to have the opportunity to ensure this diploma, with a focus on applied learning, will offer an alternative to traditional approaches in subject areas in the humanities and social sciences."
Founded in May 2004, CCS covers advertising, crafts, cultural heritage, design, music, performing and the literary and visual arts.
