Business commends training for employees

A company in Oxfordshire has hailed the advantages of giving its workforce the chance to gain work-related qualifications.

Insight Promotions, which is based in Henley-on-Thames, is currently investing in providing training for employees on business administration.

Speaking to the Henley Standard, office manager Gillian Sanders said she believes that giving staff the option to study for the level two certificates is good for both the workforce and the company.

The staff training has also been praised by employees at Insight Promotions, one of whom said she would be willing to move beyond a level two certificate and study for a higher qualification.

Holly Johnson, a sales support assistant at the firm, commented: "I am going to be doing the level three because it will add to my job role and develop my career."

She said that another qualification could help boost her chances of fulfilling her ambition of working in a human resources position.

Rob Allen, another member of staff at Insight Promotions, also spoke highly of the training for employees, describing it as "challenging, but good fun".

Ms Sanders added: "As a company we can only benefit from offering our employees training."

This comes after Andrew Edge, human resources director at Apollo Group, stated that providing training for employees can be a good way of boosting staff retention.

Speaking to Construction News, he said it would also help to promote "flexibility and dynamism" among employees and make it easier for them to move between different positions within an organisation.
