Technology could be used to benefit employees more, it
has been suggested.
Increased job satisfaction and better business could be achieved if companies improved the use of technology as many are failing to use all the benefits it has to offer, it has been suggested.
Whatever the size of the company, the use of technology can make them "become smarter, to be more customer orientated", said the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC).
At times, the advancement of tools and equipment can be taken for granted and often people are failing to take full advantage how it can help progress the business and to make the working day run more smoothly.
John Dunsmore is the managing director of BCC.
"In the current economic climate, we are going to have to work harder and smarter - and technology can make a huge difference there," he said.
As well as using it as a tool to communicate effectively with customers, it can also be used to make the working day more flexible.
Mr Dunmore suggests that using the relevant devices and tools could mean employers are able to work away from the office – either at home or out in the field.
The BCC is the national body for a network of accredited chambers of commerce across the UK. It has a number of tips for businesses to consider.
Firstly, it suggests businesses find a way to use technology in a way that works for their individuals' needs and objectives.
Secondly, it states that customer service should be valued and should be top quality in order to retain the business' client base.
And finally, cash flow should be managed correctly by having an effective system in place which allows companies to monitor their out and in-goings.
