Learning content provider Video Arts has
launched a number of new e-learning courses dealing with legal
issues.
Digital learning content provider Video Arts has announced that it will be launching 15 new e-learning courses. These will be aimed at line managers and will help clarify some of the legal aspects of running a business, reports PersonnelToday.com. Martin Addison, managing director of Video Arts, commented: "Organisations need to mitigate their legal risks if they are to avoid breaches and fines." To prevent legal issues arising in the future, firms might wish to ensure that their staff are properly trained in their management responsibilities. This might include learning online about discrimination, hiring and firing, how to manage disputes and coping with the media.
Mr Addison said the e-learning courses were a "cost effective way to train employees" and ensure that important legal issues are properly comprehended. He asserted that the courses were up-to-date and that they can be relied upon to "reflect current law and practice". "As organisations face recessionary challenges, e-learning is leading the way in a drive for new flexibility in learning delivery," Mr Addison added.
Some of the issues that are dealt with in the courses are acquisitions - both from a buyers and sellers perspective - contract negotiations, cooperating with competitors, and email and online risk. According to research conducted by Video Arts, 84 per cent of companies use some form of e-learning, while 30 per cent are considering increasing the amount spent on this form of staff training. This comes after Paul Holme, regional skills director for the Learning Skills Council said more and more workers are looking to make themselves stand out by learning at work.
