A new tool aimed at providing assistance to those wanting to set up their own firm has been launched by Business Link Northwest.
The body has unveiled Six Steps to Starting a Business, which provides advice on issues ranging from conducting market research, picking an office location and dealing with health and safety and employment laws.
Those wanting to take part can sign up now and adviser Rob Capleton told the Liverpool Daily Post the series " literally walks you through the process" of becoming an entrepreneur.
He stated starting an enterprise can potentially be daunting as there are numerous factors that need to be considered, but this initiative lets those wanting to take the plunge to do so at their own pace.
"This new series of e-communications pulls everything together in one place," remarked Mr Capleton, noting each step uses interactive methods in order to "keep the process interesting".
Basics such as working out strengths and weaknesses and the effect running a company will have on a person's family life are covered in the first part, with more complex issues such as tax, VAT, keeping records and choosing a bank account covered later on.
Business Link recently helped one woman set up her own company after she was made redundant as a result of the recession.
Maggie Glynn got in touch with the government body to get help with establishing health and beauty firm Elemental Beauty.
She was put in touch with the Enham charity - which gave her a £700 grant - and Ms Glynn also signed up to beauty training classes to improve her skills.
