With the UK still facing such huge issues of poor maths and English skills amongst adults, there's no doubt much more still needs to be done. We want to give people a more practical set of skills which they can apply in their daily lives. That's why we've designed a service where apprentices can learn their maths and English online and, if needed, supported remotely, freeing up valuable assessor and manager time to focus on the practical elements of the apprenticeship.
There's definitely something different about our offer at learndirect: we don't think that one size fits all! We're offering a range of scalable solutions that we can shape to your specific needs. We use visual and written media to tell stories to engage learners, encourage persistence and aid understanding – and ultimately achieve success. We facilitate peer-to-peer support to help apprentices succeed and celebrate in each other's success, raising confidence and self-esteem in each individual learner.
We help apprentices to build the skills needed to use maths and English in practical settings - like when they're dealing with customers or handling finances - and prepare them to apply their new skills at work and in the real world. Our offer is built with the versatility to meet people’s differing requirements - because we work with our apprentices from the outset to determine the support they need, tailored to them, their learning style and lifestyle. We'll improve apprentices' maths and English skills using technology, freeing up more time for them to be trained in the workplace and, ultimately, be more productive.
