At learndirect, we know it can be difficult to get your head around all the different ways you can save money. There's a lot to think about and you might be wondering where to start. Don't worry though, our nationally recognised qualifications could help.
Would you find it hard to work out the price of a coat you want to buy if it had 30% off?
Are you struggling to work out what your tax code means and if you're on the right one?
Would you be able to work out what the interest will be in pounds on your credit card?
If you're finding any of these things difficult, a Certificate in Adult Numeracy could be right for you. This qualification covers topics such as addition, subtraction, percentages, and money.
Do you want to write a killer CV and cover letter?
When you sign up for a new mobile phone do you read the contract and the terms and conditions?
Do you find it difficult to understand bank jargon when you're applying for a loan or trying to open a savings account for your children?
If so, a Certificate in Adult Literacy could help you to take the first steps towards improving your English skills. You'll cover topics such as grammar, punctuation, reading and writing which could make a big difference.
Do you know how to apply for jobs online or use price comparison websites? Could you use spreadsheet software like Excel to create a budgeting sheet to manage your money? Would you feel confident enough to do your shopping or banking online?
An IT qualification such as ECDL or ITQ could be the best way for you to build your confidence with computers. These qualifications cover topics such as internet and email, spreadsheets, presentations, word processing and databases.
