Boosting your skills

If you're unemployed or have been made redundant, getting back into work is key to improving your finances. You're not alone - we can help. Already got a job? Maybe you want to get a promotion, or you want a career change. Improving your skills by gaining a nationally recognised qualification with us can mean you land yourself a better job and, of course, more money. We'll help you to identify any gaps in your skills and enrol you onto a set of courses that meet your needs. That way you can show employers that you have the skills they're looking for.

We can help you fit your learning around your existing job, while you're looking for work or while you’re running the home. We also work with you to understand your current skills and experience and the type of job you want. We can even identify training that might be useful when you start work too. You don't necessarily have to pay either – in many cases, funding could be available to cover the cost of your learning.

On the job hunt right now?  We’ve teamed up with Monster to help give you the best advice on where to look for a job, writing your CV and preparing for job interviews.  There's also plenty of tips on getting a promotion and boosting your confidence.  Did you know that by improving your qualifications with our help - either in maths, English or IT - you could earn an extra £2,240* a year?

If you're dealing with redundancy, we can help you to look at it positively. There’s a lot to think about, but you can use our Plan B tool to create a personalised action plan for your next steps back to work

Whatever your situation, we can help you to achieve your goals.
