Diversity isn't about ticking boxes or being politically correct. A 2008 report by the Department for Work and Pensions found businesses which embrace diversity enjoy both improved productivity and increased profit. That's because respecting the individual differences of employees, partners, suppliers and customers from all over the world leads to improved customer service, greater recruitment opportunities and an enhanced business image.
This course explores the dangers of stereotypes and the risks of making judgements based on one aspect of an individual's persona such as their age, race, gender, sexuality, religion or disability. The course encourages you to question assumptions so that you feel more secure, confident and trusting when dealing with people whose values, opinions or cultures differ from your own. You'll learn about creating a more comfortable, inclusive work culture and ensure that you and your business avoid costly and damaging discrimination claims.
When you have completed this course, you will be able to:
• identify common issues with equality and diversity
• understand your rights and your responsibilities
• raise awareness of the issues among your colleagues, employees and managers
• take appropriate action to prevent breaches of legislation

I’m now much more confident at work. I’m also very pleased that I’m now able to help my kids with their own studies.
