This course gives you an introduction to using Photoshop 7. You'll get to learn about the Photoshop interface, pixels, saving and printing, using the tools, making and modifying selections, layers, creating text effects, filters, colour correction, and web graphics.

• Open images from a variety of sources, and navigate the features, tools and commands of Photoshop 7
• Manipulate image, canvas and pixel sizes, control resolution, mix channels and manage colour
• Save images in a variety of formats and print images in a variety of modes
• Understand that Pencil and Brush tools, and create and modify shapes
• Crop, trim, retouch, clean and alter images
• Create, move, manipulate, lock, and organise layers, including manipulating opacity and erasing layers, and apply and manage styles
• Manipulate the appearance of text and make shapes and paths from it
• Create a variety of effects using filters and use the colour correction tools to improve an image
• Use Photoshop 7 and Image Ready to create dynamic graphics for the web
• Understand the pros and cons of common file formats, creating type and colour palettes, and slicing graphics
