Compères are announced as ceremonies approach
With the learndirect regional award ceremonies fast approaching, we are pleased to announce the compères for this year’s events. Follow this link to find out who will be presenting at your regional awards ceremony.
Kyran Bracken – Ex-England Rugby World Cup Winner + Dancing on Ice Champion urges people to get their skates on and nominate someone for a learndirect Achievement Award.
"I am proud to support the learndirect Achievement Awards because I know how important it is to boost your skills and potential. Developing new skills takes hard work and perseverance, but the benefits are always worth the extra effort. I’ve got first-hand experience of this having trained hard to be part of the Rugby World Cup-winning team and then re-training in the field of ice-skating to be crowned Dancing on Ice champion.
“The learndirect Achievement Awards celebrate learners and businesses who are going that extra mile to develop their skills and up-skill their local area, as well as the people and centres supporting them. I would urge people to nominate someone who really deserves to be recognised before nominations close on 27 March."
Eamonn Holmes and his wife, Ruth Langsford presented 2008’s National learndirect Achievement Awards.
Eamonn and Ruth said:
"We are both delighted to support the learndirect Achievement Awards which recognise individuals and businesses who rise to the challenge of developing new skills as well as the people and centres that support them. We have worked with learndirect in the past to highlight the benefits of learning, so have seen first-hand the really positive impact that learning can have on adults around the country: it really can be life-changing. So please, log on to the website at www.learndirect.co.uk/awards and make a nomination.”
Mark Ramprakash Statement of Support
'I have always enjoyed learning new skills, both for cricket and in my spare time. Winning Strictly Come Dancing was a real highlight for me and gave me a massive confidence boost as I worked really hard on learning new skills and techniques for the show.
I am proud to support the learndirect Achievement Awards because I know how important it is to boost your skills and potential. The Awards recognise people, businesses and learning centres who rise to the challenge of developing new skills. By working to improve themselves they are contributing to the success of local communities and the country too.
