Most of us under-prepare for an interview and over-prepare for a date. A date will be annoyed that you know too much, an employer that you know too little.
Resist the temptation to check up on your date through their friends, relatives or co-workers. Ask no questions before hand and gather no information.
However before setting out for a job interview do your research. Know as much about the company and the position as possible. Check websites and trade papers. Gather information and ask lots of questions.
