A festival encouraging families to learn together has begun in the south of England.
The Family Learning Festival, which takes place throughout October, has got underway in Cambridgeshire, it has been reported.
According to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, families in the area "will be spoilt for choice" by the activities taking place across the county.
Numerous colleges, schools, sports centres and libraries are involved in the project, which is being run by the local council.
Taking place today (October 7th) is the first part of The Big Draw 2008, in which children from Wisbech St Mary Primary School, family members and professional artists will work together.
Several other schools will follow suit over the coming weeks.
The newspaper claimed that "over the years it has inspired adults, in particular, to continue their own learning afterwards, joining local clubs and classes".
In related news, City of Sunderland College representative Louise Marrin has told the Sunderland Echo that its provision for adult learners has gone "from strength to strength" over the last few years.
