Work is underway on the new Learning Zone facility in Winsford.
Construction work has begun on the Winsford Learning Zone, a £10 million educational centre in Cheshire, it has been reported.
The Northwest Regional Development Agency, which is taking part in the project along with Mid-Cheshire College, Cheshire County Council and the Learning & Skills Council, made the announcement this week, claiming that "it's all-systems-go".
Teenagers aged between 14 and 16 will be catered for by the Learning Zone, with a number of vocational courses on offer.
Adults will be able to benefit from the facility too, however, as Mid-Cheshire College's principal John Reilly explained.
"The Winsford Learning Zone will also be the focus for adult education and work-based learning in Winsford," he remarked.
"Many of our adult courses, including our Basic Skills provision, will be based in the Zone."
In other news, the Training and Development Agency for Schools has suggested that male primary school teachers are needed, as they act as important role models to children.
