Most people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland want to go to work, an expert has said. Derek Draper, a psychotherapist and regular contributor to Psychologies Magazine, claimed that while people's motivation for wanting to work may differ, for the most part it is still something that the majority of them wish to do. "The truth is that most people do want to do some work, either because they need the money or find it satisfying or fulfilling," he remarked. Commenting on the idea that the trend of career-minded women may be becoming a thing of the past, he suggested that sex does not come into it and that the only real issue is whether anyone is prepared to work the long hours that are currently commonplace across the UK. Research from Pyschologies Magazine found recently that 78 per cent of women wish they had more time, while 65 per cent would like a job that can fit around their life.
