One of the finalists at this year's series of Masterchef: The Professionals has landed a dream job working with legendary chef Michel Roux Jr.
Daniel Graham, who started his culinary career by obtaining an NVQ in food preparation, lost out on the title to Steve Groves.
However, the 27-year-old showed so much promise in the competition that Roux Jr, who has two of the prestigious Michelin stars to his name, has offered him a job in his restaurant, reported the Journal Live.
The young chef, who hails from Haltwhistle, South Tyne Valley will take up a position at the famous London restaurant Le Gavroche.
Situated on Upper Brook Street, the eatery was awarded three Michelin stars in 1982 when it was run by Michel Roux Jr's father Albert.
Daniel is set to follow in the footsteps of a number of other famous chefs who worked at the establishment, including Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay and Bryn Williams.
During the show, Daniel revealed that his performance at school was generally poor and that in his home economics class he received a D.
However, he went on to complete an NVQ course in food preparation, at which point he found his true calling.
Earlier this month, Redditch residents were offered the chance to obtain an NVQ level two qualification in healthier foods and special diets.
The Redditch Advertiser reported that the aim of the scheme was to improve the skills of young parents as well as older people.
After completing a course that involved demonstrations and opportunities to learn about diet and nutrition, those dedicated to adult learning were offered the chance to continue their studies and get an NVQ.
