A man who moved to the UK from Poland has set up his own driving school.
Leszek Zegan decided to start his own company in August of last year, having previously worked as a franchised instructor at the AA Driving School, the Norwich Evening News reports.
He originally worked at the YMCA when he moved to the country, but became a driving instructor using training and skills he had learnt when he worked in the same role in his native country.
Mr Zegan, 51, explained that he chose to run his own company so he would have more control over his job.
"Since I started in August I have been quite busy. I am working for people and with people, which is something I have done before," he remarked.
He said that people who are thinking of starting a firm - such as those who have been made redundant and are looking for a change in career - should give it a try.
"If you think you can manage working independently then go for it," he remarked, adding that his job, which caters to both and English and Polish-speaking students, is "good fun" and offers a lot of satisfaction.
His advice to give starting a business a try is similar to that of Carole Beverley, chief executive of the Entrepreneurs Forum.
She recently told north-east newspaper the Journal that there has never been a better time to establish a firm, adding that there is plenty of advice available to people who are looking for a change.
