There are a number of different ways you can get an IT qualification, so we advise speaking to your local learndirect centre to discuss your needs and goals. To get a qualification you will need to complete an assessment, but this doesn't necessarily mean a written exam - it could be an online test taken using a computer or even a practical work-based project.
Many learndirect courses now include features to help you practise and prepare for assessments, so you can build your confidence first and only take the test when you are 100% ready.
You may also be able to get funding to pay some, or all, of the course fees, depending on your goals and circumstances. Please speak to your local centre staff who will be able to advise you.
