What are the benefits of Learning through Work?

Learning through work helps you:

  • gain a university qualification without taking time off work
  • improve your skills and effectiveness at work
  • reflect on your skills and develop your planning.

What programmes are available?

Learning through Work combines several modes of learning, including work-based projects, online courses, distance learning courses and taught modules. Often referred to as 'blended learning', it's a popular and effective way to learn.

The scheme can lead to a wide range of higher education qualifications, including:

  • undergraduate certificates
  • university honours degrees
  • postgraduate degrees and doctorates.

You can also complete shorter programmes, which count as credits as part of the university system. You can put them towards a recognised qualification at a later date.

How much does it cost?

Each Learning through Work programme is tailored to your needs and agreed with the university, which makes it difficult to provide specific costs. However, programmes usually cost less than traditional courses.

For detailed guidance on fees, you can contact universities directly through our dedicated Learning through Work website.
