Full time mum of two, Julie Brown from Wrexham is gaining the skills and qualifications she needs through online learning provider, learndirect and Yale College.
Julie has the goal of not only being able to help her young sons with their homework when they get older, but also wants to get a good job and make them proud of her.
Julie has completed courses to brush up on her maths and English skills and will hopefully be following this with the European Computer Diving Licence course (ECDL) which a number of employers are now asking for.
Julie explains: “My local Job Centre gave me an option to return to learning and learndirect was an obvious choice. The courses are flexible so I could start immediately and I am currently coming in 3 days a week to fit in with childcare arrangements. Being able to access my course online at home also means that I am able to carry on with my studies in my spare time”.
