When 21 year old Natalie started to think
about her future, she soon realised that brushing up on her maths and
English skills would allow her to get a good job. Natalie has gone on to
gain a computer qualification and numeracy skills through
learndirect.
Natalie said: “When my daughter was 18 months old, I started to realise that I didn’t have anything behind me, no qualifications or skills for the future. I left school with some GCSE’s but didn’t realise how vital qualifications in maths, English and computing was. I am currently at the stage where my daughter is old enough for me to start looking for employment but it wasn’t until I started looking at job advertisements that I realised that most employers ask for these qualifications. It was basically now or never and life is too short to sit back and let opportunities pass you by”.
