At the age of 46, Robert has battled years
of ill health but is now on the road to recovery and after a gap of
almost 30 years – he has returned to learning.
Robert had a poor experience of school and was wrongly labelled as having learning difficulties. In fact, Robert has Celiac Disease which is an imbalance in the body’s nutrients which inhibits development. It was only 2 years ago that Robert was eventually diagnosed with this manageable disease and since then, he has turned his life around and found great enthusiasm for learning, with a view to gaining enough computer knowledge to get a good job.
Robert says: “learndirect has helped me enormously and given me so much confidence. I feel so lucky to have found my way back into education. I have lost too many years of underachievement and now hope that I can move on enough to eventually find suitable employment and realise a dream”.
