Mark Tami MP enrols on learndirect course at Netcafe

Mark Tami MP went along to the Netcafé in Shotton to try out the latest computers for internet access and while he was there, he enrolled on a learndirect course. Interested in finding out more about what the internet can offer, he signed onto an Introduction to the Internet course, which would be able to follow on any networked computer at home, back at his constituency office or even at Westminster.

Like others, Mark Tami is extremely busy and would find it difficult to attend a formal course at set times each week. He is keen to continue learning and felt he could fit the learndirect course in around his busy schedule. learndirect courses are available at the Netcafé, with support from a tutor available for those who need it. Computers are available for people to use on a drop-in basis, whether they want to access a learndirect course, or simply use the internet. Not just a centre for learning, the Netcafé operates as a café and meeting point for local people and businesses.

Whilst at the Netcafé, Mark Tami said, "I would like to congratulate Deeside College on taking these very positive steps in encouraging people from all walks of life to return to learning. I am very impressed with the Netcafé facilities which will be of real benefit to the local people and businesses of Shotton."

TheNetcafé has been sponsored by The New Opportunities Fund which distributes Lottery money to health, education and environment projects across the UK.
